Using the University-Assisted Community Schools (UACS) model at two elementary sites in Knoxville and a K-12 in rural Sunbright, TN we provide services such as high quality instruction, expanded learning opportunities, and health, dental, mental health, and social services, as determined to by the expressed needs of each school.

As a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education and within the department for Theory and Practice in Teacher Education (TPTE), I employ a service paradigm to prepare future teachers and provide holistic services to students and their families through the community schools strategy.

In tandem, I teach a survey of education course for all incoming teaching candidates, oversee graduate assistants in teaching and supervision of introductory education courses, and facilitate partnerships to ensure students who are attaining their professional licensure have high-experiences with youth in various capacities across Knox County and beyond.
